Privacy Policy

Summary for website visitors · Updated October 2026

NISPiD processes personal information for membership administration, mentoring, events, governance, partnerships, donations and approved student-support activities. This policy explains what we collect through this website and how we use it.

Information we collect

  • Identity and contact information, such as your name and email address.
  • Professional, educational and membership information you give us in an application.
  • Mentoring goals and programme participation records.
  • Student-support information and proportionate evidence, only when an application route is open and you choose to apply.
  • Governance, conflict-of-interest and donation or payment information where relevant.

What this website records

When you submit a form, we receive the information you entered, a reference number and the time of submission. Our web servers keep standard technical logs, including IP addresses, for a limited period to protect the site against abuse. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools.

How we use information

We use information only for defined NISPiD purposes: administering membership and programmes, matching mentors and mentees, assessing support requests, maintaining governance records, communicating with participants and meeting applicable legal or accountability requirements.

Access and sharing

Access is restricted by role and need. NISPiD does not sell member or beneficiary information. Sensitive hardship or safeguarding information is never shared with general members or donors because they support a programme.

Retention and security

We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, on organisation-controlled systems with access restrictions and strong authentication. Information you submit is encrypted in transit.

Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or raise a privacy concern. Use the contact form and choose “Privacy request”. You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
