NISPiD aims to protect members, students, mentees, mentors, volunteers and beneficiaries from exploitation, abuse, harassment and avoidable harm.

  • Immediate safety takes priority where serious harm is credible.
  • Concerns are handled confidentially, on a need-to-know basis.
  • Mentoring maintains professional boundaries at all times.
  • Interim restrictions may be used where proportionate while a concern is assessed.
  • NISPiD is not a substitute for emergency, medical, legal, immigration or specialist welfare services.

Raising a concern

If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. To raise a safeguarding concern with NISPiD in confidence, use the contact form and choose “Safeguarding concern”. It goes only to the people responsible for safeguarding.
